Summer 2016 Program
There will not be a Summer 2016 MSE program

This REU site (if funded) offers a 9.5-week MSE REU summer program typically start from the Thursday after Memorial Day and ends approximately the first Friday of August. (Schedule for 2016 program available here) We will make schedule accommodations for students from schools on quarter systems.

The goal of this REU site is to implement a summer program that offers participants with the opportunity to conduct independent research projects in one of our active, well-established research programs on campus in the field of nanotechnology and to provide participants with:

  1. High-quality mentoring experiences in research team environments.
  2. Access to research facilities and equipment and an intensive hands-on experience with advanced equipment for synthesis, characterization, and testing of materials at the nanometer scale.
  3. Professional development opportunities in nanotechnology and to develop skills required for nanotechnology-related research.
  4. Opportunities to cultivate participantsí sense of research/scholarly community as well as to communicate the results of their work to different constituencies.
